PED NDT using distance learning
About the course
Annex I, Article 3.1.3 (NDT) of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU states that personnel inspecting pressure equipment must be certified in accordance with the EN ISO 9712 standard.
Institut za varilstvo d.o.o. is a notified body (notified body) EU no. 2042 for the area of pressure equipment and as such covers the area of certification for the area of PED (Pressure Equipment Directive).
After the acquired basic knowledge of NDT according to the ISO standard, it is necessary to add a part of knowledge that refers to European regulations and the specifics of control and testing of pressure equipment.
Personnel who wish to be certified in the field of pressure equipment (PED) must, in addition to the above conditions, have a minimum of 60 days of work experience in this field, which is confirmed by the employer in the application for certification.
The exam, which will contain questions on the basics of the NDT method for which the certification is being carried out and mainly topics from the previously processed material mentioned above, is taken remotely (under our video supervision or at an authorized exam center). You can receive the certificate in electronic or paper form.
Currently, the NDT – PED course is prepared in English and Slovenian (translations into other languages are being prepared).
Important: The NDT - PED certificate does not replace the ISO 9712 certificate, but requires a valid ISO 9712 certificate as a basis. Validity is conditional, and the certificate is only valid if both valid certificates are submitted simultaneously.
